The fifth and Last ODI of their one-sided series against England in Cardiff on Sunday (today) at Sophia Gardens. Pakistan prepare to avoid white wash in the fifth and final one-day international of their one sided series between Pakistan and England . The match will start at 2.30 pm (PST). Light rain is also expected during the match in Cardiff.
As England is on upper hand in the series and Pakistan to avoid white wash, it is very difficult task for them to survive against the quick fired bowling attack of England.
England have been clinical in the series so far and have not given Pakistan any chance of bouncing back with 4-0 while the green shirts have the last chance to avoid a clean sweep in the Last ODI.
Pakistan captain Azhar Ali has taken a lot of twig in the last week, with many even calling for his dismissing as Pakistan skipper.
Azhar Ali will be under a lot of pressure in this match, not only to lead, but also to perform.
Pakistan’s dearth of quality players for white-ball formats lead team at the point of humiliating defeat in the Last ODI and a white wash as well, Former chief selector
Former chief selector and Test batsman Haroon Rasheed cries the dearth of quality players for white-ball formats which has left Azhar Ali’s team at the point of a humiliating 5-0 whitewash.
Rasheed, who presided the selection committee for one year, explained that Pakistan fans and stakeholders need to realize that they are miles behind leading teams; and that at present the mandatory bunch of players can’t win and can only hope to compete.
“The fact is that there is a huge gulf between us and leading teams such as England,” said Rasheed, while speaking to media persons.
“Since the 2015 World Cup we have plummeted to new lows due to the deficiencies of the talent pool. When I took over as chief selector, the talent pool wasn’t good enough.”
Pakistan’s ODI ranking is also in danger of playing qualifiers for the world cup.Plenty of work is needed to execute in Pakistan domestic circuit. Pakistan is on a brink of white wash as England already 4-0 up in the series.
“We need to develop separate squads for Test and white-ball formats; we need a pool of 20-25 players and need to improve the shot-making skills of our batsmen,” he proclaimed.
