PTI renounces Vawda’s protest at Sharah-e-Faisal

PTI leader Imran Ismail urged the party worker Faisal Vawda, who was taken into custody in allegation for blocking Sharah-e-Faisal in protest, acted alone. Many protesters blocked the main Sharah-e-Faisal at Star Gate on Wednesday; demand the government to ‘end Pakistan’s problems’.

“He organised this protest in his individual capacity and the PTI had nothing to do with it,” PTI spokesperson said, adding that the party leadership has taken notice of the incident and will inquire about the matter from Vawda.

Vawda ‘was not following party orders, PTI spokesperson

PTI leader Imran Ismail also alleged that he has been tasked by party leaders, including chairman Imran Khan, to look into the matter as Vawda ‘was not following party orders’.

According to The Traffic East SP Qamar Rizvi many people thronged the Star Gate at around 3pm, after which traffic diversions were arranged through Karsaz Road and Rashid Minhaz road. Rizvi further added, “Commuters travelling towards the airport were asked to take University Road using Model Colony Graveyard Road”.

Malir SSP Rao Anwar supervised instigation between the law enforcers and the protesters. A few hours later, Airport police SHO Mithal Bhurghri took Vawda into custody after the negotiations failed as he refused to end the protest.PTI worker arrested
